This is my first tattoo. It was inspired by various Chinese and Japanese landscape painting styles. Last semester I took a class on Asian Art History; sparking my interest in these styles. I decided to get this landscape as a representation of my Chinese heritage, a side of me I don’t get to explore much. I think it came out beautiful. Though it’s not as grand and expansive as a Song Dynasty monumental painting, it still reminds me of the power of the natural world and the small role I play in it. It brings me peace.
There is also a small cherry blossom falling from the tree to match a blossom tattoo that my sister got on the same day.
Thanks to Kim Durham.
Beautiful
As I sail through life I pick up souvenirs. I will share them here.
